Mastering the Customer Quick Search: A Guide to Finding Your Customers Fast

Looking for a customer in the system? The enhanced quick search feature makes it easier than ever! Here's your guide to finding customers quickly using a variety of search criteria:

Basic Search:

  • Free Text:  Simply type in the customer's name or email address, or any part of it, into the search bar.

Attribute Search:

Want to narrow down your search? Use attribute identifiers to search specific fields:

  • Last Name: l: or l= or l. followed by the last name (e.g., l:Doe, l=Doe, l.Doe)
  • First Name: f: followed by the first name (e.g., f:John)
  • Email:  e: followed by the email address or a portion of it (e.g., e:jd42@yahoo.com, e:jd42)
  • Phone Number: p: followed by the full phone number with no spaces or special characters (e.g., p:5035555555)
  • Zip/Postal Code: z: or po: followed by the full zip code (e.g., z:97220)
  • DMS Customer Number: cn: followed by the full customer number (e.g., cn:12345)
  • DMS Deal Number: dn: followed by the full deal number (e.g., dn:12345)

Combining Searches:

  • Multiple Attributes: Use a space to separate multiple attribute searches (e.g., l:Doe f:John, z:97220 e:yahoo.com)
  • Free Text with Attributes: Combine free text keywords with attribute searches for even more specific results (e.g., Doe z:97220 jd42, f:John yahoo)

Tips and Tricks:

  • No Spaces Necessary: You can omit the space between the attribute identifier and the search term (e.g., f:john l:doe)
  • Partial Matches:  You can use partial information for most attributes (e.g., first name, last name, email).
  • Phone Number Format: Use only the full number with no spaces or special characters (e.g., 5035555555).
  • Whole Numbers Only:  Zip codes, customer numbers, and deal numbers require the full number.

  • Find a customer with the last name "Doe" and an email address containing "jd42": l:Doe e:jd42
